Bridgett Massengill is the executive director for THRIVE 2055, serving as the primary contact for the region and the administrator of the Thrive 2055 regional initative.
Prior to joining the THRIVE 2055 effort, Bridgett was principal of her own consulting firm and helped numerous communities work towards achieving their historic downtown commercial revitalization goals. She served as the executive director of the Johnson City Development Authority, a quasi-governmental agency and state and national Main Street Certified program, focused on the redevelopment of the historic central business district. Prior to that, she served in a non-partisan, joint legislative staff role as a legislative budget analysis specialist for the Tennessee General Assembly, analyzing Tennessee's multi-billion dollar budget and various economic development, environmental, agricultural, tourist, and transportation-related programs. Her community-centered career began in the mid-90’s at the Office of the Mayor in Chattanooga, TN during a time when the city's historic visioning efforts for a brighter future were just beginning to take visible form.
Bridgett holds a Master's degree in Public Administration: Planning and Development from East Tennessee State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga
