Thrive 2055

Compendium of Public Input

Thrive 2055 is a 3-year process.  In the first year, we traveled over 3,500 miles across 79 towns and 16 counties to reach over 3,281 individuals, with active participation from 40 mayors and 295 regional business and civic leaders currently participating in the organized committee efforts.  That active participation number is growing each month as more people join the working and focus groups in critical discussions or by responding to the various surveys on topics.

At the launch of Thrive 2055 in the winter of 2012, we asked you what you loved about this region and what the most important things for us to focus on as a region were.  We asked again through our first round of Meetings In a Box. Through our website and the meetings, we received hundreds of responses.  We took what we heard and compiled a series of value statements that reflected the things people in this region expressed as positive values and provided two opportunities to gather feedback from you on these values.  From this input, we derived topical areas that you frequently mentioned or suggested were important at a regional level.

Then at the Input Incubators held in April, you told us what we should focus on in each of these topical areas.  As the listening and learning process continued through the summer, the working groups focused on assessing that which our region was already doing and what we needed to do to protect the things we loved while making the most of our resources and opportunities.

Below you can view the responses and results of our web polls, Meetings-in-A-Box, Input Incubators, Assessment Surveys, and the Guiding Principles and Regional Priorities Survey.  If you are among the thousands who have contributed so far, thank you!  If this is your first time checking in on Thrive 2055, we look forward to meeting in the coming months and hearing your thoughts about how we can work together to achieve our goals.

The compiled data from input opportunities throughout the year can be downloaded and viewed by following the links below.  The files are Microsoft Excel or PDF format.  Results are presented in tabulated format for all written comments received and the statistical results of polling exercise are also presented.  Names and contact information of participants are not included to protect individual privacy.
